Module 5 Activity 3 Reflection

This activity was based on evaluating software using ten criteria and providing a brief description of the criteria.  The readings provided for this activity was very refreshing, some of the educational software mentioned was totally new to me so I had the pleasure of examining and exploring the software closely to test their capabilities.

I came up with means how I can incorporate most of the software into the class and which grades they are suitable for.  This activity was an excellent hand on one.

Activity 2 Reflection

Module 5

Module 5 Activity 2 Reflection

This activity was hinge on my experience with Educational Software, as an educator I have to be aware of the diverse Educational Software   that are readily available to improve students’ knowledge and their retention level, teachers must ensure educational software are evaluated and they are freely available before they are used in the classroom.  Educational software can motivate students to learn complex concepts in a more interesting and meaningful way.

Students must always be at center stage in the learning environment   in order to receive the best results   students must be  directly involve in the learning process, the use of Educational software can assist in controlling the pace at which they learn, they can be able to identify their own strength and weaknesses and build on them.  My colleagues really share some good educational software which I intent to explore and incorporate in my teaching.  I am really looking forward to the other activities.

This activity was a very interesting one for me since I gained new knowledge with the Google document.

Module 5 Activity 1 Reflection

This activity required us to join the social bookmarking site Diigo.  Social bookmarking websites enhance and improve learning experience by encouraging group collaboration and making, organizing and saving web resources more efficiently and effectively for students with minimal complication.

I was  totally unfamiliar with Diigo so experimented  a bit to see how it operates and functions. Diigo is very powerful as it  allows users to  save important websites and access them on any computer,  it also classifying websites by (titles, groups, list) etc.

Diigo contains features and functions that are beneficial to teachers for e.g. they are provided with tools for setting up groups of students, selecting  key information, and making comments on your shared bookmarks. I am definitely going to try to implement some aspects in my classroom. It always a great pleasure to be exposed to new technological ideas social mediums.
